Solar & Roofing on Maryland's Eastern Shore

Stevensville, Kent Island, Easton, St. Michaels, Federalsburg, and all of Queen Anne's, Talbot, and Caroline counties — this is our backyard, and where Shore Home and Solar is officially based.

A Recent Project · Federalsburg

Priced out by Delmarva on a fixed income. We fixed that.

An elderly homeowner in Federalsburg, living on a fixed income, was being priced out by her Delmarva Power bill. Delmarva's residential rate has more than doubled since 2020 — from 12.60¢ to 25.70¢ per kWh, a 103.97% increase — and a fixed income doesn't stretch to cover that.

We designed a solar system for her home that locked in her rate, so Delmarva's increases stop applying to her. For someone on a fixed income, that's more than savings — it's stability.

Operating out of Stevensville on Kent Island, we see firsthand how Delmarva Power's rates have hammered homeowners here — up to 25.70¢ per kWh, more than double what it was in 2020. Choptank Electric customers across the mid-shore have felt a similar squeeze. This isn't an abstract stat to us; it's our own neighbors' bills.

Bigger lots, different engineering

Unlike the denser suburbs across the bridge, the Eastern Shore's larger lot sizes make ground-mounted systems and long conduit runs much more common. Navigating the agricultural and critical area commission guidelines near the water in St. Michaels or Talbot County is a specialized skill we've had to hone — it's not something an out-of-state installer picks up on their first job here.
